Agentbits 0.1.0 is a desktop app for Windows, with macOS on the way. Everything stays on your computer: there is no account to create.

The first installer is being checked

Installers will be published on GitHub Releases once a build has been tested. Until then you can run Agentbits from source in a few minutes.

Before you install

  1. Expect a SmartScreen warning

    The installers are not code-signed yet. When Windows SmartScreen warns you, choose More info, then Run anyway.

  2. Check the download

    Each release lists SHA-256 checksums next to the files, with the commit they were built from. Compare them in PowerShell:

  3. Install over older versions

    Agentbits does not update itself. Install a newer version over the old one; your data in %APPDATA%\Agentbits is kept, also when you uninstall.

Run from source

You need Git and Node.js 22 or newer. Native modules come prebuilt, so no build tools are required.

To try Agentbits without touching your normal data, point it at a separate folder:

Want a Windows installer of your own? Run npm run dist:win; the file appears in the release folder.
