# Agentbits > Agentbits is a desktop app (Windows 10/11; macOS experimental) for running a team of AI agents: a lead splits your goal into tasks, specialists work on them in parallel, the lead reviews the results, and you watch it live in a pixel-art office. Local-first: no account, no Agentbits server, no telemetry. Source-available under PolyForm Strict 1.0.0 (free for personal and other noncommercial use; it is not open source). Latest version: 0.3.0 (2026-10-15). A single place for everything waiting for you, acceptance criteria the lead checks one by one, a "What changed?" view for each task, and fixes for six problems an independent review found. Agents run on Claude Code CLI, Codex CLI, the Anthropic API, the OpenAI API or an OpenAI-compatible endpoint (Google Gemini, Ollama, LM Studio), or a free Demo mode. Agentbits does not bundle or sign in to the CLIs. ## Start here - [Download](https://agentbits.app/download/): Windows installer and experimental macOS packages - [Release notes](https://agentbits.app/releases/): what changed in each version - [FAQ](https://agentbits.app/faq/) - [Full documentation as one text file](https://agentbits.app/llms-full.txt) - [Turkish site](https://agentbits.app/tr/): the same content in Turkish ## Getting started - [Introduction](https://agentbits.app/docs/introduction/): What Agentbits is, the ideas it is built on, and how a request moves from you to a finished result. - [Install](https://agentbits.app/docs/install/): System requirements, downloading the installer, running Agentbits from source, where your data lives, and how to update or uninstall. - [Quick start](https://agentbits.app/docs/quick-start/): Your first run, from choosing a provider to watching a team of agents finish its first job. - [Providers](https://agentbits.app/docs/providers/): The five AI providers Agentbits supports (with Gemini and local models through OpenAI-compatible endpoints), what agents can do with each, how to set them up, and how to mix providers and models. ## Concepts - [Organization and agents](https://agentbits.app/docs/organization/): How units, teams, agents, leads, job descriptions and templates fit together on the Organization page. - [Projects](https://agentbits.app/docs/projects/): What a project is, how to create, open, switch, archive and delete projects, and the rules for project folders. - [Tasks and orchestration](https://agentbits.app/docs/tasks/): How tasks are created, picked up, approved, reviewed, redirected, paused and stopped. - [Parallel work and race mode](https://agentbits.app/docs/parallel-work/): Duplicating agents into twins, how the lead shares work between them, task dependencies, team awareness, a git working copy per task, and race mode. - [Memory and decisions](https://agentbits.app/docs/memory/): How project and organization memory work, optional semantic memory, how decisions are proposed and accepted, and how memory reaches the agents' prompts. ## Features - [Office](https://agentbits.app/docs/office/): The pixel office shows the active project's team at their desks, what each agent is doing, and lets you open any agent's details. - [Chat](https://agentbits.app/docs/chat/): How the project chat works: describing work to the lead in #general, direct messages to agents, task threads and attaching files. - [Terminals](https://agentbits.app/docs/terminals/): Agent terminals show what each agent was asked and did, with token usage and direct instructions; Shells give you a real PowerShell or bash session. - [Files](https://agentbits.app/docs/files/): Attaching files to chats, tasks and instructions, which formats agents can read, the limits, who can read what, and the project's Files section. - [Connections](https://agentbits.app/docs/connections/): Give agents controlled access to SSH servers and databases, with access levels, Production approval and an audit log. - [Apps (MCP)](https://agentbits.app/docs/apps/): Connect MCP servers as apps, set a policy for each tool, choose which agents may use them, and review every call. - [Skills](https://agentbits.app/docs/skills/): Install instruction packages (SKILL.md) from GitHub or your computer, or write your own, and assign them to agents or teams. - [Sharing teams and agents](https://agentbits.app/docs/sharing/): Export a unit or an agent as a .agentbits file, and import one from a file or a GitHub link after a full preview. - [Reports](https://agentbits.app/docs/reports/): The Reports section: project statistics, agent performance, task, daily and custom reports, and token usage per agent and per day. ## Reference - [Permissions](https://agentbits.app/docs/permissions/): The per-agent permission matrix, permission templates, how each permission is enforced by each provider, and approvals. - [Security](https://agentbits.app/docs/security/): How Agentbits protects your data and systems, where its limits are, and how to report a vulnerability. - [Settings](https://agentbits.app/docs/settings/): A walk through every section of the Settings panel, including language, providers, permissions, memory, backups, reset, and security and limits. - [Keyboard shortcuts](https://agentbits.app/docs/shortcuts/): All keyboard shortcuts and mouse actions in Agentbits, in one table. - [Troubleshooting](https://agentbits.app/docs/troubleshooting/): Fixes for common problems with providers, project folders, agents that don't start, the app window and running from source. - [Limitations and roadmap](https://agentbits.app/docs/limitations/): What Agentbits 0.3 does not do yet, known rough edges, and what is planned. ## Optional - [Source code and issues](https://github.com/godilman/agentbits) - [License: PolyForm Strict 1.0.0](https://github.com/godilman/agentbits/blob/main/LICENSE)
